The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing released a consultation paper on modernising referral pathways that related specifically to the GP and non-GP specialist relationship.
This submission highlights the limitations of the current referral pathway for audiology and offered a number of recommendations, including implementing direct referrals, extending the period of validity for referrals, and allowing flexibility to change providers on the same referral.
