In order to practice competently and safely, audiologists must have recently practised in the field of audiology in order to stay up to date with their professional skills and knowledge. This is known as the Recency of Practice requirement and means that a practitioner must be able to demonstrate that they have practised for at least 200 hours over the previous 12 months or an average of 1,000 hours over the past 5 years.

However, practitioners who cannot meet the Recency of Practice requirement must instead meet the Resumption of Practice requirements outlined in this document.
